Named after the German Nobel prize winning author, the Heinrich Böll Foundation is an international network with the focus on human rights strengthening, sustainable policy formation and environmental protection. They work with more than 100 project partners in over 60 countries and currently maintain 32 international offices.
The Heinrich Böll Foundation grants scholarships to approximately 1,200 undergraduates, graduates, and doctoral students of all subjects and nationalities per year, who are pursuing their degree at universities, universities of applied sciences (‘Fachhochschulen’), or universities of the arts (‘Kunst-/Musikhochschulen’).
The Heinrich Böll Scholarship will support successful applicants in family, childcare allowance, health insurance or similar, including additional funding for limited periods spent abroad for purpose of study, internship or similar. Germans/Foreign students educated in Germany and EU nationals/Students not educated in Germany, will receive funding that will vary (like the German BaföG) according to parental income or own assets or earnings: max. EUR 649 plus EUR 300 book money per month. Non-EU nationals/ Students not educated in Germany will receive EUR 850 per month plus various individual allowances.
The Heinrich Böll Foundation only accepts online applications. Applicants can submit their online application through their application portal, it will be opened about 6 weeks before the application deadline.
