The Department of Grain Science and Industry at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas calls application for Postdoctoral Fellowship in the United States. This is a full time, term position for 12 months with the continuation of this position contingent on the continued funding, satisfactory performance, and the need for the services.
This individual is expected to conduct both fundamental and applied research in pulse protein chemistry, modification, and functionality in relation to food applications and product quality. The successful candidate will propose and carry out physical, chemical/biochemical, and enzymatic modification of food proteins, analyze physicochemical and nutritional properties and structural characteristics with different techniques, design and evaluate performances of protein ingredients in different food systems, analyze results and data with appropriate statistical methods, prepare reports and manuscripts for publication, and deliver presentations at scientific meetings and to other interested parties. The individual is also expected to write grant proposals, assist in training and supervising student researchers, manage lab facilities, and perform other duties as requested by the PI.
