Are you planning to study in Nigeria, here tips to secure an admission in one of the Nigerian universities:

I did small research before writing this article.  I was thinking if it is worth to study at a university in Nigeria. Is there good universities, is there a good level of education, which is the main language of studies. What about life there and many other questions come to my mind before writing this article.

First of all, English is the first language in Nigeria, therefore you will find a very good level of English courses and study programs in Nigeria. Certainly, Nigerian have special English accent. However, they speak correct English with rich vocabulary and no grammar mistakes.

So, if you planning to learn English or to enrol in a program entirely taught in English than Nigeria is a good option.

Second, You will live in a country achieving high rates of growth and let’s one of the biggest economies in Africa. Universities there are also jumping in universities ranking. In 2013, the economy of Nigeria is ranked first in Africa before Egypt and South Africa.

Third,  four universities are featured in times higher education due to the quality of their education, Covenant University, University of Ibadan, University of Lagos, University of Nigeria Nsukka.

Let’s take as an example these four universities and figure out how we could secure enrollment in these universities.

Covenant University: Covenant University (CU) is located in Ota, Ogun State in Nigeria. It is a private Christian university, affiliated with Living Faith Church Worldwide and a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, Association of African Universities and National Universities Commission. Over the years, Covenant University has grown to be one of the leading universities from Nigeria based on annual rankings from various organizations, scholarly citations from reputable journals and JAMB statistics

University of Ibadan: The University of Ibadan (UI) is the oldest degree awarding institution in Nigeria, and is located five miles (8 kilometres) from the centre of the major city of Ibadan in Western Nigeria. It is popularly known as Unibadan or UI. Besides the College of Medicine, there are twelve other faculties: Arts, Science, Agriculture and Forestry, Renewable Natural Resources, Social Sciences, Education, Veterinary Medicine, Pharmacy, Technology, Law, Public Health, and Dentistry. A thirteenth, Economics, Environmental Design and Management, is proposed.

 University of Lagos: The university has remained one of the most competitive in the country in terms of admissions. With approximately 57,000 students as of 2013, the University of Lagos has one of the largest student populations of any university in the country. The University of Lagos is among the first generation of universities in Nigeria and also one of the twenty-five federal universities which are overseen and accredited by the National Universities Commission.

 University of Nigeria Nsukka: The University of Nigeria, commonly referred to as UNN, is a federal university located in Nsukka, Enugu State, Nigeria. Founded by Nnamdi Azikiwe in 1955 and formally opened on 7 October 1960, the University of Nigeria has four campuses – Nsukka, Enugu, and Ituku-Ozalla – all located in Enugu State and Aba campus in Abia State.
