Amman International Film Festival invites all film-makers to take part in its first edition, which will be held 13 through 18 April 2020, and submit their films for the competition.
Applicants should clearly indicate on the submission form which category they’re applying for (multiple categories per film are admitted).
An in-kind award for the Best Short Film will be announced on January 2020.
Note that: All categories will be eligible for the Audience Award.
Amman International Film Festival is the very first film festival of its kind to be held in Jordan, under the theme of Awal Film (First Film) and it is indeed long overdue. It will focus on showcasing high quality Arab and international movies, regardless of their box-office performance. The distinctive edge of this festival lies in the recognition of various talents involved in film-making, whereby awards will go to first-timers in the fields of direction, scriptwriting, editing, photography, and acting. The competitive section is reserved for Arab filmmakers and includes feature-length narratives and documentaries, as well as short films. A non-competitive international section will showcase debut films from all over the world.
In addition to screenings, a program of film industry events including masterclasses, seminars, pitching sessions and discussions with directors and film-stars will stimulate aspiring filmmakers in Jordan and the whole region.
