McGill's Scholarships and Student Aid Office offers merit-based entrance scholarships to first-time university students entering a full-time undergraduate degree program to study in McGill University in Canada

Award:

There are two types of scholarships:

  • One-year Scholarships, valued at $3,000 (non-renewable)
  • Major Scholarships, valued between $3,000 and $12,000 (renewable annually up to 3 or 4 years provided criteria for renewal are met)

Eligibility:

  • One-year entrance scholarships
  1. No separate scholarship application is required. 
  2. All first-time university students entering a full-time undergraduate degree program are automatically considered for a one-year scholarship
  • Faculty-specific Entrance Scholarships
  1. Certain faculties at McGill offer their own faculty-specific entrance scholarships. 
  2. These faculties include Music, Dentistry, Law and Medicine. 
  3. These scholarships are not transferable should you change faculties.

Required documents:

  • Academic documents:
    1. Copy of high school transcript, including mid-year/final 1st semester results for final year
    2. Copy of GCSE/IGCSE/O-Level/CSEC or MYP exams, if written
    3. Predicted IB results
    4. If IB Diploma is completed, a copy of the final results is required in lieu of the above.
  • Proof of English Proficiency
  1. Applicants who have lived and attended school, for at least four years, in a country where English is the acknowledged primary language, are not required to provide further proof of English proficiency.
  2. If this is not the case, official test results will be required by the supporting document deadline.  
  • Additional supporting documents (such as recommendation letters and personal statements)
