Souq Fann is offering a job opportunity a creative Sourcing, Production and Social Media Officer to work full time within their headquarters in Amman, Jordan. A successful candidate supports the team in the sourcing and production processes by being flexible and eager to make Souq Fann a great success.
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Sourcing, Production and Social media Officer are the following:
- Vendor and Product Selection:
- Finding, vetting, and evaluating potential vendors based on clearly-defined criteria
- Evaluating and selecting products to be sold from each vendor, judging quality, price, artistic value, and potential customer appeal
- Ensuring agreements are signed with selected vendors and partners to promote their products on the platform
- Maintaining strong relationships with vendors and providing them with technical and logistical support
- Sourcing and Production
- Writing SEO friendly descriptions for the products in English and Arabic
- Writing the vendors’ stories in English and Arabic
- Managing photos, data, and descriptions of products to be uploaded to the platform, in collaboration with web developers
- Conduction quality assurance on website content in line with internal criteria and marketing goals
- Social Media and Marketing
- Creating and implementing social media plans on a weekly basis
- Managing social media pages (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Linkedin...)
- Writing articles in English for Souq Fann blog on a weekly basis
- Creating newsletters on a weekly/monthly basis
- Overall Platform Development
- Contributing to the overall sales and marketing strategy of the platform
- Representing Souq Fann to vendors and other stakeholders when appropriate
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent content writing skills in Arabic and English
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with many different types of people
- Ability to manage vendor relationships with a diverse vendor community from throughout Jordan
- Accuracy with information management, especially contact databases and process maps
- Developed artistic taste and the ability to predict customer reaction to individual products
- An appreciation of Jordan’s artistic and handicraft sector, and an understanding of relevant cultural and economic factors
- Unwavering attention to detail and drive to succeed
- Ability and willingness to work outside of normal working hours
- Ability to learn and analyze new and conflicting information quickly and effectively
A successful candidate will also have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in good standing from an accredited university
- 2+ years of relevant work experience in the fields of art and design, handicraft production, project management, retail purchasing, entrepreneurship, or similar
- Fluent in English and Arabic
- Familiarity with G Suite online applications
- Experience with website management is preferred
- Eligible to work in Jordan

This position includes a competitive salary (if the applicant passed the internship successfully) and benefits according to the company's internal salary scale. The final salary will be commensurate with the qualifications and skills of the candidate. Note: This position is available immediately. The successful candidate will sign a six-month contract starting from 1 February to 1 August 2020, including a three-month probationary period.
