Loupe is offering artists from all around the world the opportunity to be a part of its 2020 Design Residency Program in and outside of Hong Kong, which is a comprehensive mentoring program with industry experts in jewelry to help designers elevate their career and skills to the next level. During the period of mentorship, designers-in-residence can expect to develop their skills and capabilities in jewelry design in the fully-equipped environment at Loupe.

Requirements:

  1. There are two types of application procedures. Both local and International designers can sign up for selected periods by filling in the application form at the bottom of this page. Make sure you select the right period and application category (local designer is based in Hong Kong and international designers is based outside of Hong Kong). 
  2. Possesses a creative portfolio that shows imagination, experimentation and ambition, and displays a profound interest in commercial jewelry design.
  3. A bachelor's or master's degree in Arts or Design. For local designers graduated in Hong Kong other relevant and/or similar qualifications are accepted.
  4. While there is no strict upper age limit, this program is designed for designers aged 35 and below.
  5. An outgoing and amiable personality, and demonstrates willingness to interact with visitors of Loupe.
  6. Demonstrates ability to organize events and workshops as they may be required to do so during their residency period at Loupe.
  7. Fluent in English.

There are 5 key elements at Loupe:

  1. Exhibition: For emerging artists to showcase their works, sharing their visions and aesthetic through jewelry, design and different art forms.
  2. Residency: The Design Residency Program is a comprehensive mentorship scheme. The team provides guidance and a fully-equipped workshop to young jewelry design talents, enabling their own creations and career development.
  3. Education: The team hosts an educational program as a platform for exchange and public engagement in design and craftsmanship. It offers a wide array of seminars and workshops each month to ensure there is always something new for everyone.
  4. Boutique: The Boutique carries the exclusive design products created by the in-house craftsmen, Designers-in-Residence and up-and-coming jewelry design talents.
  5. Teahouse: A place to chill and dine, guests can immerse in the artistic and creative ambiance while sipping on a selection of premium teas, coffees and savor delicate pastries and cakes and more.
