Erasmus Intern is offering an internship opportunity for Tunisians at Sleep Green - Certified Eco Youth Hostel in front desk and administration of social media channels in Barcelona, Spain. The training will last for four months. Required commitment: full time.

Sleep Green is a small, friendly youth hostel in the center of Barcelona near the main square Plaza Catalunya. It was created from the passion to minimize the impact of the hostel's business operations on natural resources. In recognition of the commitment to sustainable tourism, Sleep Green is the first urban youth hostel in Spain that was awarded the EU Ecolabel.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Welcoming guests and completing all necessary procedures when guests arrive and depart.
  • Handling cash and controlling payments.
  • Dealing with a wide range of guests’ requests.
  • Informing guests about Barcelona’s sightseeing attractions.
  • Assisting customers in making travel arrangements.
  • Actively providing information about the hostel’s eco concept and answering related questions.
  • Planning and implementing digital marketing activities, i.e. administration of social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter).
  • Writing blogs for the hostel’s webpage.
  • Organizing and leading leisure group activities (only during high season).
  • Other projects and tasks subject to the requirement of the hostel or interest of the student, e.g. reputation management, translations, etc.
  • Light housekeeping, i.e. maintaining general cleanliness at the hostel, washing and drying hostel sheets, and providing laundry service to guests.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The full-time internship must be a compulsory part of the candidate’s tourism, marketing, business and/or language studies and/or must be supported through the Erasmus+ program.
  • English: Independent User B1.
  • Spanish: Independent User B2.
  • Minimum availability of four full months.
  • High level of English and Spanish; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; intercultural sensitivity; open-mindedness.
  • Service-minded and guest-oriented attitude.
  • Willingness to take on responsibility.

Note: No previous years of experience are required.

Compensation:

  • Financial compensation.
