ACTED Niger offers an internship in the field of project development in Niamey. The conflicts in northern Mali and the Lake Chad crisis have caused major population movements towards the Diffa and Tillabéry regions. ACTED is responding to the humanitarian needs of particularly vulnerable displaced populations, whose influx is weighing on pre-existing basic services and natural resources of the host populations. ACTED teams have been operating in Niger since 2010, implementing programs to ensure people’s access to water and sanitation services as well as providing support to build economic and agricultural resilience.

Eligibility:

You must have:

  • Postgraduate diploma in international relations/political sciences.
  • Previous related work experience, knowledge of proposal writing and donor relations
  • The ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • The ability to work in an unstable security environment moving.
  • The willingness to work and live in often remote areas under basic conditions

Your Responsibility:

You will be in charge of:

  1. Contract follow-up.
  2. Communicate contractual obligations in particular with regards to reporting deadlines to program, AMEU and FLATS team.
  3. Reporting.
  4. Participate in and take minutes of kick-off and closeout meetings for each project
  5. Write quality narrative reports, reflecting the progress and status of projects in a transparent, timely and professional manner, in liaison with ACTED HQ GMU and finance, which will contribute ultimately to steady cash inflow.
  6. Work in close relation with AMEU to incorporate AME data in reports and review M&E reports from AMEU.
  7. Liaise with FLATS teams when preparing reports, especially with finance to ensure greater coherence between financial and narrative reports by crosschecking the matching of data in the narrative and financial reports.
  8. Contribute to the monthly update of the reporting follow up (RFU) and ensure smooth and regular communication with ACTED HQ GMU.
  9. Address ad hoc requests from donors in liaison with the program and support teams.
  10. Ensure partners report to ACTED in a timely and qualitative manner as per the requirements of the grant agreement.
  11. Internal coordination and communication.
  12. Facilitate interdepartmental communication and information sharing from the base, to the capital, and even up to the regional and HQ offices by taking minutes of the various ACTED coordination meetings.
  13. Send meeting minutes in a timely manner to HQ;
  14. Inform ACTED HQ GMU and finance of the latest developments, opportunities, and challenges so that GMU can best advise on the way forward.
  15. Update regularly the resource center at the office with appropriate and relevant external and internal resources.
  16. External relations.
  17. Update regularly a directory of donors, international and local NGOs, other partners and stakeholders.
  18. Contribute when required to the reporting to national and local authorities as required by ACTED registration and legal status in-country.
  19. Contribute to proposal development.
  20. Incorporate learning from previous interventions (e.g. lessons learned and best practices) into new proposals,

Funding:

If you are accepted at this opportunity, you will have:
