United Nations announces an internship opportunity in the UN Technology Bank for the Least Developed Countries (TBLDCs) for a period of two months, commencing as soon as possible, with an opportunity for extension up to a maximum of six months depending on the needs of the technology bank. This internship is unpaid and full-time. It's located in the TBLDCs, based in Gebze, Turkey. Interns will work five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the TBLDCs. Eligibility:

You must have:

  • Ability to draft clearly and concisely, good written and oral language skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from different national and cultural backgrounds to achieve organizational goals.
  • Considers all those to whom services are provided to be ‘clients’ and seeks to see things from clients’ point of view.
  • A demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and a personal commitment to the ideals of the United Nations Charter.
  • A demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which includes willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
  • Be fluent in spoken and written skills in English. Knowledge of a second United Nations official language will be an asset.
  • You must meet one of the following requirements:
  1. Be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or
  2. Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent); or
  3. Have graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one year period of graduation.

Your Responsibilities:

Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual’s background, the intern’s assigned program as well as the internship period. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Performs desktop publishing to produce a variety of print material and publications, using relevant computer systems and software applications.
  2. Assist in the layout and preparation of information materials.
  3. Review and/or edits scripts and storylines, creates and edits animations as per requirements and prepares presentations with raw designs to clients, using relevant software and techniques.
  4. Create models, drawings and illustrations by hand or electronically.
  5. Develop storyboards for the initial stages of production, using creativity and artistic techniques to tell a story or provide information in visual form.
  6. Join images with background graphics and special effects and ensures synchronization of frames and audio.
  7. Assists with scheduling of various components of the production process like copy and proofreading, graphics, translation services, typesetting, printing, etc.
  8. Liaise with relevant parties on project specifications and approval of mechanicals for dispatch, etc.
  9. Track and monitors production flow to ensure that deadlines are met.
  10. Perform other related work as required, including drawing paintings, computer animation, info-graphic and printmaking design, books illustrations, creative writing, technical art, installations and photography.
