Online Volunteer Opportunity in Editing and Translation to French from the UN

OPPORTUNITY.DETAILS OPPORTUNITY.DESCRIPTION

The United Nations is offering an online volunteer opportunity in supporting the editing and translation for the South-South and Triangular Cooperation Report. Only one volunteer is needed for this opportunity and he/she will be required to work for 6-10 hours per week for 3 weeks.

Tasks:-

  • Editing

    • Undertake a line edit of the first-draft text and return marked-up edits using track-changes in MS Word.

    • Guarantee delivery of edited text to UNDP by the date specified.

    • Ensure all corrections are inserted accurately and add comments in MS Word if explanation is needed.

    • Be available to communicate with the project team during this editing phase (in the time period specified), and following submission of edits, be available for consultation online or by phone for follow-up questions.

  • Translating to French

    • Once the English draft is approved by the project team, translate the document into French, including associated graphics and references.

Objectives:-

  • The report guidelines are a first step to support UNDP staff in delivering UNDP’s renewed offer on South-South and Triangular Cooperation to its government counterparts.
  • The guidelines cover key technical steps to consider when developing and implementing national South-South Cooperation (SSC) policies, which can lead to the establishment of the broader national SSC institutional and policy architecture, as recommended in BAPA+40 outcome document.
  • These guidelines are not intended to be definitive, but rather to be flexible, adaptable to national priorities and understandings and non-linear.
  • The guidelines are intended to support countries that wish to become active partners of SSC and build on the momentum generated by BAPA+40.
  • The guidelines are focused primarily on technical SSC rather than economic cooperation or trade.

Requirements:-

  • Experience report editing and translation to French.
  • Experience of working on writing and/or editing reports and publications on development issues, ideally familiarly with South-South Cooperation and Triangular Cooperation.
  • Ability to deliver against tight deadlines.

Conditions:-

  • By registering you accept that you do not make any financial claims to organizations or to UNV.
  • You could check the Terms of Use for more about standards of conduct and the conditions for using this platform.
