Facebook is seeking an experienced strategic partner manager for the media partnerships team in South Africa. You will collaborate closely with media organisations, content creators and public figures across the entertainment and news industries in multiple countries across the region. You will build and implement results-driven partnership plans with the key stakeholders, as well as influence internal and external partners. This job requires high levels of creativity, analytical skills and strategic decision-making experience as you  engage with a range of media publishers on Facebook's platforms. 

Eligibility:

You must:

  1. Be fluent in written and conversational English and it's preferred to be fluent in French too.
  2. Have deep knowledge and contacts in the media industry across Africa.
  3. Have solid background in media and digital, preferably with experience in partnerships and training.
  4. Have passion for Facebook products and social media.
  5. Have proven track record of developing and scaling new business opportunities.
  6. Have excellent project management experience, with the ability to lead and handle multiple time-sensitive, cross-functional projects on deadline.
  7. Have exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  8. Have demonstrated ability to think strategically about complex issues, leading to thoughtful recommendations and action plans.
  9. Be able to work effectively with all levels of management, both internally and externally.
  10. Be a rapid learner who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Your Responsibilities:

You will:

  • Contribute to the implementation and optimization of Facebook’s strategic partnerships in the region.
  • Initiate, structure and negotiate high impact training and content partnerships.
  • Track, analyze, and communicate key quantitative metrics and develop and execute against partner account plans.
  • Train new partners on Facebook products.
  • Liaise with Facebook product and technical teams to proactively resolve operational issues.
  • Be an internal advocate for the partners and maintain strong relationships with other teams.
