UN Volunteers Programme is offering a volunteer opportunity in Iraq within UDP, as a Knowledge Management Officer/Specialist.

Duration:

6 months with the possibility of extension.

Eligibility criteria:

  1. Minimum age: 22 years old.
  2. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in Iraq.
  3. Bachelor of Science degree in Emergency Management, Geographic Information Systems, Information Management, Computer Science, Statistics, Graphic Design, Social Sciences or other relevant field is required.
  4. 36 months of experience in knowledge management, information systems, disaster management, humanitarian action or in related field is required; relevant experience managing information in a conflict or disaster context at the national/international level is desirable;
  5. English(Mandatory), Level – Fluent;
  6. Arabic(Mandatory), Level - Working Knowledge.

Volunteer duties:

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Funding Facility for Stabilization Programme Manager, the UN Volunteer will:

  1. Lead the knowledge and data management components of UNDP’s COVID 19 Response Package.
  2. Apply and document best practices of data management to support the monitoring of the COVID 19 response activities implemented by UNDP, development of knowledge sharing systems, support to mapping and spatial analysis.
  3. Design, develop and manage databases, spreadsheets and other data-centric tools; understand, document, and ensure the quality of high-value data for accuracy, consistency and comparability; consolidate operational information on a regular schedule to support analysis;
  4. Design and develop logical knowledge management system to support ease of coordination/data sharing with wider humanitarian and development actors also active in health sector.
  5. Maintain appropriate filing system for monitoring reports, project photos, and associated materials.
  6. Support the preparation of programme reporting documents to donors and government partners,
  7. Produce and update information products such as reports, charts and infographics by turning data into graphical products to convey messages and a storyline; develop advocacy materials including posters, presentations and other visual materials;
  8. Maintain a repository of spatial data and ensure that the data are documented and accessible to all partners through local and/or online services;
  9. Guide the use of satellite imagery for data collection and COVID 19 related activity planning.
  10. Perform other related duties as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.
