Would you like to perform your play in the biggest theater festival in the east of Africa? Then apply now for the Kampala International Theater Festival taking place in Kampala, Uganda from 22nd to 26th November 2017 which will offer you the opportunity to perform your play in front of an international audience coming from African, European and Middle Eastern countries. The festival is organised by the Bayimba Cultural Foundation, an Ugandan foundation organizing cultural exchange to boost culture in Uganda, and the Sundance Institute East Africa, an American-based organization supporting independent art. The festival’s aim is to create a platform for mutual exchange between East African and international performers.
As a participant the following costs would be covered by the festival organizer:
- A modest performance fee
- Ground transportation
- Modest accommodation
- Modest per diem allowances
Please note you will have to pay for your travel and visa costs yourself!
Fill in application form , which includes:
[1] A short summary (synopsis) of your play
[2] A short biography of yourself (maximum of 800 words)
[3] Include a recent headshot of yourself to the biography
[4] A letter of motivation (about one page)
[5] A presentation of your work (either send your script or a short video)
[6] A technical rider/ data sheet naming every person taking part in the play
