IRC offers a full time job opportunity in Libya to work as a WPE case worker. You will conduct all steps of the case management process for GBV survivors, establish referral pathways and make sure that services providers understand the GBV guiding principles and the IASC guidelines.

Eligibility:

You must have:

  • Technical diploma or degree in social work, counseling, human rights, or any related degree.
  • Minimum of one year experience in implementing WPE programs, preferable social work or case management, in humanitarian or development settings.
  • Experience in working with women.
  • Committed to rights based and community based approaches.
  • Demonstrated understanding of working with vulnerable women.
  • Personal qualities: good listener, team player, flexible, network-builder, able to handle pressure well and work in cross-cultural setting.
  • It's preferred to be fluent in written and spoken Arabic, English speaking is a plus 

Your Responsibilities:

You will be responsible of:

  1. Treat survivors with respect, kindness and in a caring manner, always maintaining confidentiality.
  2. Complete confidential incident report and assessment forms.
  3. Conduct case management to survivors of GBV and ensure proper documentation, referral, follow-up and case closure.
  4. Compile statistics and write weekly and monthly reports.
  5. Give survivors information about consequences of GBV and help them identify their needs and options.
  6. Develop action plans to address survivor’s physical, emotional, psychological and social needs and provide follow up to ensure needed services are provided.
  7. Work closely with the clinic staff to ensure holistic care of survivors.
  8. Work closely with other referral partners to ensure holistic, multi sectoral response for survivors.
  9. Work with team to ensure WPE program is implemented in conformity with the IRC program frame work promoting and protecting rights, participation, capacity building, partnership, and holistic planning.
  10. Ensure that all high risk cases are addressed immediately in coordination with the direct line manager.
  11. Participate actively in weekly case management team meetings.
  12. Communicate regularly with program manager for updates on achievements and challenges.
  13. Any other relevant WPE activities as required by line manager.
  14. Collaborate closely with health team and other sectors when needed.
  15. Directly communicate with other caseworkers and service providers as part of conducting individual case management.
  16. Regularly attend case management meetings at field level.
  17. Another other task as assigned by the line manager.
  18. The WPE caseworker will be based in Tripoli with frequent daily visit to field locations in order to support and follow up individual cases of women and girls identified in need of case management.
