Facebook is offering an exceptional job opportunity as a Technical Program Manager to join the team in New York, USA for 2020. As a Technical Program Manager on Platform Software, you will play a key role in delivering new cutting-edge technologies to next-gen programs via enabling hardware and software architecture, bring-up, deployment and developer support of new devices. You will be defining and driving highly complex, cross-functional plans for new developments. This will require guiding execution through planning of requirements, managing schedules, identifying and tracking risks and associated mitigation and coordinating with internal and external cross-functional partners. Communication of program status and risk to program stakeholders is a key requirement for this high impact role where you will have a major impact on future products.

Technical Program Manager Responsibilities:

  1. Program manage software development for new products from concept to launch.
  2. Build, coordinate, and maintain schedules, and track execution at task level across cross-functional teams, manage shared resources, and ensure timely delivery.
  3. Capture and keep detailed and well-organized records of cross-functional communication, meetings, problems and risks.
  4. Identify resources needed and work closely with team leaders to maintain full visibility of the project schedule and potential roadblocks.
  5. Work with teams to alleviate project bottlenecks and escalate the need to resolve issues when executive support is required.
  6. Build and manage relationships with hardware, software and algorithm vendors and other external partners, including creating statements of work.
  7. Drive deliverables from external partners and ensure that they have the information and resources needed to succeed.
  8. Understand and communicate technical information to non-experts.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years of experience in technical program management.
  2. Experience in relationship building and collaboration within cross-functional team.
  3. Experience in organizational, coordination and multitasking.
  4. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  5. Experience managing embedded software development programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience working with external partners as part of outsourced SW engagements and CM/JDM/ODM management.
  2. Experience working on consumer electronics products.
  3. Experience managing Android app development projects with cloud/backed infrastructure.
  4. Experience working with a cross-disciplinary team of software engineers, hardware engineers, product managers, designers, UX researchers.
