Description:

The Department of States Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, Assistance Coordination (NEA/AC) invites applicants to submit proposals that will directly result in verifiable increases in youth employment for targeted Tunisian youth with university education, bridging the gap between education and job market needs and linking entrepreneurship and enhanced employment opportunity. The project is designed to measurably increase employment for young Tunisians in marginalized governorates through the “supply side”: the provision of job training, job placement and training programs for youth and young entrepreneurs.

Eligibility:

  • Eligible Countries and Territories:  In this announcement, we seek to support projects in Tunisia.
  • Eligible applicants include U.S. or foreign non-profit organizations; for-profit organizations; private institutions of higher education, public or state institutions of higher education; public international organizations; and small businesses with function and regional experience in the areas of Tunisia’s economic landscape and economic governance, job training and skills development, entrepreneurship, and job placement.  NEA/AC strongly encourages applications from civil society organizations headquartered in the Middle East and North Africa region.
  • Youth and Young Tunisians: For the purpose of this NOFO, youth or young Tunisians are defined more broadly as anyone between the legal age of employment under Tunisian Law and 29 years old.
  • Higher education/educated or Tertiary education: For the purpose of this NOFO, we are intentionally targeting individuals with a higher/tertiary education.
  • Cost per job: This metric should include the cost per job created, cost per job filled, and the cost per self-employment in the formal sector
