The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is looking for a talented Data Analysis and Reporting Consultant to join the team and work in Beirut, Lebanon for 2020. 

Responsibilities:

Consultant:

  1.  Filter and “clean” data by reviewing data reports, and performance indicators. Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
  2. Transform, validate, and model data with the purpose of understanding the data best suited to address given questions.
  3. Apply appropriate statistical principles, identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex datasets.
  4. Correlate data sets based on findings identified by WPE field team.
  5. Explore and apply new data visualization techniques to increase insight and visibility to data trends and associated policy-related opportunities, challenges and priorities.
  6. Develop comparatives graphs, reports and trend analysis.
  7. Provide technical support to WPE team through training or on the job coaching to acquire advanced data analysis and reporting skills.

IRC WPE Team:

  1.  Provide the consultant with background materials and reports.
  2. Provide the consultant with clear guidance on the specific outputs. WPE will assign a focal point who will be responsible for supervising the consultancy work, which will require the validation of WPE Coordinator.
  3. Provide the consultant with information needed to arrange meetings and interviews related to the scope of the consultancy.
  4. Provide the consultant with logistic support as needed.
  5. Validate the final products submitted by the consultant.

Requirements:

  1. Graduate Degree in Social Science, Public Health, Human Rights or other fields that are relevant to the scope of the consultancy.
  2. Minimum three years of relevant experience in conducting previous data analysis and research in refugee contexts in MENA region.
  3. Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
  4. Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets.
  5. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  6. Adhere & sign a confidentiality agreement to protect data of clients served by the IRC. This includes adhering to principles of do no harm, best interests and confidentiality throughout service provision
  7. Previous professional experience in Protection or gender/GBV programming.
  8. Ability to deliver training and provide coaching to support others’ growth
  9. Fluency in Arabic and English.
  10. Strong interpersonal, intercultural and communication skills.
