To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met:
(a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or,
(b) Likewise, be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelors level or equivalent).
For this internship, studies in the area of political economy and international relations are desirable.

Applicants need not have professional work experience for participation in the programme.
