Call for postdoc applicants to work on a research project titled “Modulation of human gut microbiota using psychobiotics” led by Dr. Riadh Hammami.
The laboratory is located at School of Nutrition Sciences (SNS), Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Ottawa.

The candidate should hold a PhD degree in environmental microbiology/microbial ecology, bioinformatics or a related field. Background in food/intestinal microbiology and metagenomics is essential. Experience in working with standard molecular methods (e.g. nucleic acid extraction from stool samples, PCR, qRT-PCR), and next generation sequencing (library preparations and subsequent bioinformatics data analysis) is required.
Prior work experience on food or intestinal fermentations will be an advantage. Team-orientation and excellent communication skills are expected. The postdoc will be employed on a fulltime, 2 years position.
The position will be available from September 2017, but the start date of the contract is flexible. The successful candidate will run for an annual fellowship of $50,000. Only candidate with recent PhD (after September 2014) will be considered.
