The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is offering an online internship opportunity in career development in New York. This program aims to support IRC clients to establish in reaching career goals they have set for themselves. The career development intern will support the program by enrolling clients in the program, assist them in building a career pathway, and identifying industry-specific programs and opportunities related to career goals. The intern will also conduct research that will support the building of relationships with employers as wells as internship and apprenticeship partners. The intern will also provide job readiness tools to participants. The ideal candidates will have prior experience in the field of career development or job readiness programming.
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is a global humanitarian aid, relief, and development nongovernmental organization. Founded in 1933 as the International Relief Association, at the request of Albert Einstein, and changing its name in 1942 after amalgamating with the similar Emergency Rescue Committee, the IRC provides emergency aid and long-term assistance to refugees and those displaced by war, persecution, or natural disaster. The IRC is currently working in about 40 countries and 26 U.S. cities where it resettles refugees and helps them become self-sufficient. It focuses mainly on health, education, economic well-being, power, and safety.
