Award or Grant Description $$  $2,500 to $5,000

Mr. Dan Davis has established a scholarship program to assist seniors who attend or current undergraduates who graduated from an Orange County High School who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability, or national origin.

Financial need will be considered. Recipients must demonstrate need. As part of the application, students will upload a copy of their SAR to verify financial need. (EFC < 30,000 will be eligible)

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants to the Educating America Scholarship Program must meet all of the following criteria:

    • Be high school seniors attending an Orange County High School (CA)

OR

    • Be a current college undergraduates who graduated from an Orange County High School (CA)

AND

  • A U.S. Citizen
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year
  • Be pursuing a degree in the STEM, Nursing or Trade fields
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent)

Offered Benefits

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $2,500 to $5,000. Up to two (2) awards of $5,000 each will be granted to applicants attending a 4-year university and up to two (2) awards of $2,500 each will be granted to applicants attending a two-year/vocational school.

Awards are renewable up to three years or until a vocational-technical certificate/degree, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance (maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale).

Application Process

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
  • Student Aid Report (SAR) from your FAFSA.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than December 10, 2020 3:00 pm.

Your application is not complete unless all required materials are submitted electronically through the Scholarship America Hub.
