Volunteer Online with UN: Support on Mapping Social Protection Responses to COVID-19's Crisis

UN Volunteers platform is offering an online volunteer opportunity, as PC-IG is looking for 6 online volunteers to search for official documents and/or other reliable sources concerning social protection responses – social assistance, social insurance and labor market – to the COVID-19’s crisis in Africa, Middle East and East Asia and Pacific regions.

This research will feed a mapping of social protection responses to the COVID-19’s crisis in Africa, Middle East and East Asia and Pacific regions. Online volunteers must have independent access to a laptop and internet. They will work remotely at a time and location of their convenience, subject to the deadlines set, and will receive a certificate of appreciation for their contributions. The IPC-IG is a joint project of the United Nations Development Programme and the Brazilian Government to facilitate South-South Cooperation on key development issues. The IPC-IG’s mandate is to promote the production and dissemination of studies and policy recommendations, the exchange of best practices in development initiatives and the expansion of South-South cooperation. 

Volunteer duration and working hours:

11-20 hours per week for 8 weeks.

Eligibility criteria:

  1. All candidates must be fluent in English. At least one candidate will be chosen that is fluent in Arabic and another that is fluent in Farsi. Mark clearly which languages you are fluent in. 
  2. Background on political science, development studies or other correlated area is highly desirable. 
  3. Previous experience in social protection and in undertaking online research are considered an advantage. 
  4. Upload your CV in English. 

Volunteer task:

Translation of documents to English may be required. Selected candidates must be available to start working immediately.
