The Centre of Research in the Economics of Development (CRED) at the economics department of the University of Namur invites applications for a one-year (possibly renewable for an additional year) post-doc position in the project “African Women” to begin in September 1st 2020.
This project seeks to investigate the economic forces, incentives and constraints that drive discrimination against women in this region, in a historical and contemporaneous perspective, and with a variety of methods (micro-theory, experimental games, historical data analyses…).
The CRED is devoted to studying problems of economic development, particularly issues of micro-institutions, collective action, market development, and political economics. A large part of the research carried out in CRED is based on first-hand data collected by members in various countries. It groups six permanent academic members, around 10 PhD students and several post-doc researchers.
We are seeking outstanding candidates with a strong background in development economics, economic history or micro-theory. The exact monthly net salary is determined by administrative rules and will depend on the candidates’ family situation and experience. Candidates should expect to earn approximately 2300€/month net of all taxes and deductions.
