Description of Work Unit

The Department of Computer Science is one of eight departments in the College of Natural Sciences at CSU.

The department has a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching, as well as excellence in research. A detailed description of the department and the faculty’s research programs is available at http://www.cs.colostate.edu

The CSU campus is located in Fort Collins, a city of 160,000 residents 60 miles north of Denver along the beautiful front range of the Rocky Mountains.

Position Summary

The Department of Computer Science seeks Research Associate applications for 2020-2021 from individuals who are interested in obtaining a temporary or special research associate position within the department.

Required Job Qualifications

Level I is an entry-level position for individuals with a bachelor’s degree and generally with less than three years of professional, post-baccalaureate experience.

Level II includes individuals with a bachelor’s degree and more than three years of relevant professional experience, or a master’s degree, and no other significant professional experience.

Level III includes individuals with a bachelor’s degree and five years of work-related experience, or a master’s degree with at least two years of experience.

Level IV includes individuals with a bachelor’s degree and ten years of work-related experience, or a master’s degree with more than five years of experience.

Senior Research Associate includes individuals with extensive post-baccalaureate experience, or a master’s degree and significant professional experience.

Ranking and qualifications within these levels are done on a case-by-case basis with factors that include the publication record, past research funding, professional honors and awards, decisive discoveries, and management experience.
