We are currently inviting applications for a PhD in Education funded by the Economic and Social Research Council as part of the South East Network for Social Sciences (SeNSS ) Doctoral Training Partnership.

The Institute of Education at Reading is one of the leading Education departments in the UK, with a thriving community of around 70 PhD students. We are currently inviting applications from candidate from any country for a PhD funded by the Economic and Social Research Council as part of the South East Network for Social Sciences (SeNSS) Doctoral Training Partnership.

We invite applications from candidates with research interests relevant to these fields.

Funding Details:  

  • Tuition fees at the Home level, UKRI stipend and application access to funding for training, travel, fieldwork and overseas visits
  • Starts October 2021
  • 3-4 year award available depending on project and researcher experience/qualifications
  • Open to applications from candidates without a Master’s qualification
  • Available full- or part-time

  • Applications are open to UK, EU and International applicants. ESRC SeNSS funding covers tuition fees at the Home rate and the University of Reading will cover the difference between Home and International fees.

Application Deadline: 

Early contact with the relevant subject/pathway lead to express your interest is strongly encouraged, ideally by 14/12/2020 with a 1000-word research proposal and a CV. 

Applicants must apply for a place of admission at the University Reading by 18 January 2021 and for SeNSS funding by 12.00 noon on Monday 1 February 2021
