The EPSRC Doctoral Training Programme studentship aims to explore the adoption of digital technologies, such as the use of reconfigurable small scale production and supply platforms, supply chain data triggers, smart devices and companion diagnostics, within the context of adaptive supply chains for individual patient-centric healthcare. New treatments are emerging that suggest personalised treatments are highly desirable for several therapeutic areas but currently manufacturing supply systems cannot provide these products and services cost-effectively. The selective application of emerging digital manufacturing supply chain technologies within these new therapy areas where personalised products and services are beneficial defines the opportunity. The research will tackle this opportunity from a supply chain design and technology adoption perspective identifying transformation pathways.

Applicants should have (or expect to obtain by the start date) at least a good 2.1 degree in an Engineering or related subject.

EPSRC DTP studentships are fully-funded (fees and maintenance) for eligible UK students. International (including EU) students will be considered for partial funding (home-level fees and maintenance) from the DTP.
