Description

The purpose of the scholarship is to support Faculty of Medicine students in financial need who are:

first in their immediate family to attend university, and/or
Australian Indigenous or Torres Strait Islander descent, and/or
Pacific Islander descent.

The scholarship was established in 2018 through an annual gift and pledge commitment from Dr Graham Colditz, this scholarship was created in memory of his father Dr Gordon Colditz.

Eligibility

You are eligible for this scholarship if you:

submit an application to the Associate Dean by the closing date for applications; and
are a full-time domestic student in accordance with The University’s Fee Policy; and
are an Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person; and/or a Pacific Islander person; and/or the first member of your immediate family to attend university; and
can provide documentary evidence of financial need; and
are enrolled in an Approved Program; and
do not hold another similar scholarship in the year of award.

Selection criteria

For the selection process, the Associate Dean must establish a selection committee, comprising:

the Associate Dean, or nominee, as chair of the committee; and
the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous Engagement) (or nominee); and
at least two further members drawn from either professional or academic staff of the Faculty of Medicine.
