We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor in Cyber Security to join the School of Computer Science, as part of our ongoing school expansion in the area of Cyber Security and aligned areas. Applicants should be able to demonstrate research strength of direct relevance to Cyber Security, where we have interest in technical, human and organisational perspectives.

See our recruitment microsite (https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/jobs/currentvacancies/computer-science-opportunities/index.aspx) for more information on our School’s vision, research strengths, and role within the university strategy.

You will have a background in devising and sustaining creative and/or collaborative research in Cyber Security and across Computer Science; whilst being an experienced teacher and/or researcher who is able to demonstrate how you have developed your knowledge and expertise in an academic environment. A proven track record of outputs through peer reviewed publications, research and teaching innovation or societal impact is essential in order to inform teaching innovation and enhance our School’s impact in research and knowledge exchange.

You will have the ability to deliver a high standard of teaching; including the supervision of practical work, projects and placements. You will also ensure that curriculum design and teaching methods are aligned with the pace of development in Computer Science.

We believe that world-class, multidisciplinary and diverse teams will deliver the highest quality teaching, research and student experience. Our vision as a School is to be highly rated in all areas; for Research and Knowledge Exchange, Education and Student Experience. We are equally committed to creating opportunities for people from groups traditionally under-represented in the field of Computer Science. The ability to relate to and mentor students and colleagues within an increasingly ethnically and gender diverse community is essential.

This is a permanent post. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week), however job share arrangements may be considered.
