To strengthen our excellent research team, which is focused on the development and research of innovative approaches for the treatment of childhood cancer, we are looking for a PhD student (m/f/d) in leukemia and Chromatin Biology to join the group of Davide Seruggia. In this responsible role, you will have the unique opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary competence center for pediatric oncology and to have a direct influence on the development of new cancer therapies.

The group (www.seruggialab.com) is interested in gene regulation in the context of pediatric cancer, and focuses on the study of non-coding regulatory sequences (enhancers) as well as protein complexes involved in the control of gene expression. We use genome editing (CRISPR screenings, CRISPRi/a, dense mutagenesis), chromatin profiling (ChIP-seq, CUT and RUN, ATAC-seq), proteomics, mouse models and computational approaches to identify and characterize cancer vulnerabilities. The project is funded by a Starting Grant from the ERC and will investigate how mutations at enhancers drive leukemia development and will elucidate the effect of sequence variation at transcription factor binding sites.
