During the course of the ANR project ChirMetNit (Chiral Metalated Nitriles: New perspectives in asymmetric catalysis, PI: Pr I. Gillaizeau, ICOA Orléans), we intend to study the synthetic potential of N- metalated nitriles, and more specifically N-metalated ketene imines (N-MKI), to develop innovative and catalytic asymmetric strategies for the challenging construction of vicinal quaternary or tetrasubstituted stereocenters in a single reaction step from various nitriles.
In this context, we would like to capitalize on the well-recognized expertise of the CatCH group of the COBRA laboratory to address this issue by merging organocatalysis with transition metal catalysis in order to secure the asymmetric transformation of N-MKI upon modern bicatalysis approach. The synthetic potential of these chiral intermediates will be studied in several benchmark reactions as well as in original transformations.
This project will be developed in collaboration between two teams of the ChirMetNit consortium: the CatCH group of Dr S. Oudeyer & Dr J.-F. Brière (Heterocycles team, COBRA laboratory, Rouen) and the team of Pr I. Gillaizeau (ICOA laboratory, Orléans).
