The announced PhD position will be situated within the area of Workplace Learning in the HEDWORK group. The research area focuses on how established forms of communication, organization and professional conduct are challenged by digital transformation, how professional learning and knowing are managed to sustain or develop the quality of work. Digital transformation of work refers to shifts in technologies and what they imply for how work is performed in practice.
The PhD project aims to contribute to a better understanding of the learning processes involved. This could imply studies of how professional tasks are defined, performed and assessed under new conditions, how trust and competence is re-established with the introduction of new tools, procedures automated systems etc, how new forms of communication and collaboration challenge professional boundaries and responsibilities. The project description is expected to situate learning in a specific context of work, and elaborate on how processes and implications for learning will be examined in the chosen context. It is essential that the project description addresses the role of digital technologies in the processes of learning at work.
