Fully Funded PhD Positions are now available to support all international students in Ireland for their research programme at SFI Centre for Research Training in Artificial Intelligence for the academic year 2021-2022.

The objective of this PhD programme is to provide postgraduate research students, the core skills means and techniques in the data and application of AI, to expose and develop AI solutions to a variety of domains, including smart buildings mobility and autonomous vehicles, enterprise, cybersecurity, climate change, and ecological agriculture and natural resources.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: EU
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: PhD Degree in Artificial Intelligence.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To apply for the bursary, the candidates must meet all the following given criteria:
  • Aspirants should hold a 2.1 or higher honours undergraduate degree or Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related areas.
  • Scholars will demonstrate theoretical and software engineering skills, with a keen interest in Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence, and related areas.

Offered Benefits

The SFI Centre for Research Training in Artificial Intelligence will grant stipend rates for 2020/21 studentships are €5,500 fees stipend €18,500 per annum.

  • How to Apply: Applicants are required to submit the applications via the online application portal.
  • Supporting Documents: Candidates need to submit a copy of the following along with the application:
  • Curriculum Vitae;
  • Cover letter explaining research interest, referring explicitly to one or more of the areas listed above. (maximum three pages);
  • Career Statement with justification as to why you want to complete a PhD (maximum three pages);
  • Proof of degree and transcripts of results (single PDF);
  • Any additional supporting document you would like to have considered (if applicable, single PDF).
  • Admission Requirements: One should have a master’s degree with curricular criteria suitable for AI.
  • Language Requirement: Applicants are required to provide evidence of English language ability as per the Universities guidelines, i.e., UCC, UL, NUIG, DCU, and TCD.
