Tampere ImmunoExcellence (TIE) is a multidisciplinary platform for vaccine-related epidemiologic, public health and immunobiology research at Tampere University. TIE creates a dynamic, interdisciplinary research environment for strong preclinical, clinical and post-licensure vaccination-related research, including breakthroughs in understanding the immune system and evaluating the population impact and safety of immunization programs. 

The post-doctoral position will focus on epidemiologic and public health research related to vaccines and vaccination. It is affiliated with the Health Sciences Unit (HES) in the Faculty of Social Sciences.

Job description 

The candidate will conduct research related to vaccines and vaccination in relevant topics, such as epidemiology and prevention of vaccine-preventable diseases, disease burden, efficacy, effectiveness, impact, safety, coverage or policy. 

In collaboration with the supervising staff at Health Sciences Unit, the incumbent will develop and lead a high-quality research project that will complement and advance our research areas, including expanding the network of collaborators.

Requirements 

We are seeking outstanding candidates who have a track record of internationally significant research in the area of epidemiologic and public health research related to vaccine-preventable diseases, vaccines and immunization programs. However, the specific area of research focus is open.

Salaries are based on the job demands level and personal performance appraisal according to the Finnish University Salary System. Postdoctoral Researcher is placed on the job demands levels 5-6 (teaching and research staff category). In addition, salary includes a personal performance component.
