Eligibility:

You're eligible if you:

are a female student
completed at least 14 units in one year and achieved the highest results in the year
attended a Queensland high school in the year previous to the year of the scholarship.

Selection criteria:

We'll consider:

academic performance.

Preference will be given to a lineal descendant of a person eligible to be accepted as a member of the War Widows Guild, Australia, Queensland Branch.

About this scholarship:

Originally established as the W.H. and H.W. Harris Scholarship in 1969 by a bequest of $6000 from Mrs Bessie Florence Harris in memory of her late husband William Henry Harris, a former Headmaster of the Manly and East Brisbane State Schools, who served in both World Wars, and their only child Hector William, who was lost on active service in 1947.
