Institution: Illinois Department of Children and Family Services

Purpose: To support students who have been under the guardianship of the Department of Children and Family Services.

Eligibility: Applicants must be between 16 and 21 years of age as of the application deadline and have a diploma from an accredited high school or a GED by the end of the current school year. Students must be in the Subsidized Guardianship Program, or the department must have court-ordered legal guardianship or have had legal guardianship for the applicant before adoption was finalized. Recipients must attend an Illinois state community college or university.
