Anaerobic bacteria are a group of microbes that are fastidious, often difficult to cultivate, and may be overlooked in the laboratory. Cultivation of these bacteria requires specific methods for inoculation, cultivation, and growth, particularly in bioreactors. Hence, a working knowledge of gas fermentation and the handling of anaerobic bacteria would be advantageous.

You will demonstrate academic achievement in the field/s of systems biology and the potential for scholastic success.

A background or knowledge of system bioengineering is highly desirable.
