The Center for Development Research (ZEF) / the University of Bonn is looking for excellent female candidates to apply for the International PhD Student Positions in Agricultural / Environmental Economics.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Students from all around the world are eligible to apply.
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for a PhD degree in Agricultural / Environmental Economics offered by the university
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
  • Post-doctoral researchers (with foreign citizenship) were invited by a professor at the University of Bonn for a joint research project.
  • The fellow should have a long-term affiliation (research or teaching) at a university or research institute in the above-mentioned regions beyond her/his fellowship and demonstrate proven expertise in an area of research from the thematic spectrum of the SDGs.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: Applicants must apply for  admission to study at the University of Bonn. After that, the applicant should submit their application via e-mail, in one combined PDF file, to Dr. Jorge Sellare ( ).
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university: Application documents should include a cover letter (1-2 pages)
    indicating which of the two research areas is of primary interest and describing how your
    profile fits the topic, CV, academic transcripts, a sample of your past academic work (e.g.
    research paper or Master thesis – not necessarily finished, work in progress is also
    accepted) and contact information for two references.
  • Admission Requirements: The applicants must meet the entry requirements of the Post-doctoral degree program they wish to join at the University of Bonn.
  • Language Requirement: The students must have Excellent speaking and writing skills in English and good knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese.
