The International Scientific Conference ‘From the Baltic to the Black Sea: Armenians in Cultural, Economic and Political Processes’ will be held on 15–18 October 2018 in Yerevan, Republic of Armenia. Taking into account a broad historical and geographical context of the Conference, its participants will have an excellent opportunity to study the experience of interaction between Armenians and the other peoples in the region and to evaluate the contribution of the Armenian communities into the history of the region in the past and the present times.
Thematic area of the conference covers a number of key issues including but not limited to:
Armenians, and other peoples and different ethno-confessional groups: models of interrelations;
contacts between Armenians and peoples of the region through the history of the Armenian diasporas;
the Armenian contribution to culture, science and arts of peoples of the region;
Armenians in wars and military conflicts in the region;
the relationship between Armenia and the countries of the region in the Soviet period;
international cooperation between Armenia and the countries of the region at the present stage;
the common historical and cultural heritage: key issues of historiography and source study;
Armenian communities through the history of religion: historical overview and current state.
The focus group of the conference includes historians, archivists, museologists, arts scholars, sociologists, culturologists, scholars in international relations, and other specialists.
The conference will be hosted by the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia and includes opening plenary session, a series of thematic sessions, panel discussion, and cultural programme. Accepted submissions will be published as conference proceedings.
