MSc in Comparative Public Policy & Welfare Studies

To apply for the Master's programme in Comparative Public Policy and Welfare Studies you need a relevant Bachelor's degree. You can apply if you hold one of the following degrees:

  • Bachelor in Political Science or another bachelor within the faculty of Social Sciences
  • Bachelor in History
  • Bachelor in Area Studies
  • Bachelor in International Negotiation - Economics, language and culture
  • Bachelor within Humanities if  you have acquired at least 45 ECTS within the areas of:
    • Comparative politics
    • International relations
    • Welfare studies

If your Bachelor's degree does not meet these requirements, you can still apply if you have gained professional experience of relevance to the programme. Relevant professional experience entails that you:

  • have had experience with social work with disadvantaged groups
  • have had experience with management of welfare programs
  • in other ways through your professional employment have acquired knowledge and qualifications that will contribute to the progression of the Master's programme.

Applicants who wish to exploit this option should enclose a document detailing their relevant professional experience as well as supporting documents (for example, confirmation from the institutions where the work has been done).

 Unless you have a legal claim for admission (see above), it is important that you submit the following enclosures for evaluation:

  • You graduate diploma, including a transcript of records.
  • If you have not yet passed your degree: Your newest official transcript of passed as well as registered courses. If you use the data exchange function in the application portal, please be aware that only passed courses are included in the generated file. Therefore, if you are registered for courses with specific relevance to the entry requirements, you have to upload a separate transcript of your course registration.
  • Proof of any supplementary courses you might have passed.
  • Motivational letter
  • Resume
  • Proof of your English proficiency
  • Course description for each of course on your bachelor diploma/transcript.
