DGfS Summer School 2019

Experimental Pragmatics: Theory, Methods, Interfaces

The summer school will be located at Humboldt-University in the city center of Berlin, only minutes away from major sightseeing attractions.

EARN

Up to 9 ECTS credit points

Each participant may choose up to three courses and you can earn three ECTS credits for each course.

The summer school is suitable for advanced students at the Bachelor, Master, or Ph.D. level.

The exciting field of Experimental Pragmatics

In Experimental Pragmatics researchers from linguistics, psychology, neuroscience, philosophy and related fields seek to advance pragmatic theory by simultaneously formulating formally explicit models of the cognitive mechanisms underlying pragmatics and testing these models using experimental methods.

â€œXPrag.de: New Pragmatic Theories based on Experimental Evidenceâ€œ (SPP 1727) is a priority program funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). During two consecutive phases of three years each, researchers at various universities and research institutions in Germany are collaborating on individual scientific projects in the field of Experimental Pragmatics.

The DGfS summer school is a triannual event. XPrag.de was selected to host the 2018 edition.

Fees

Fees do not include lunch or accommodation, however you might want to apply for a travel grant (see below).

Travel Grants

The DGfS is pleased to be able to offer 10 travel grants of 300,- Euro each. Preference will be given to highly motivated students who do not have access to alternative financial support for participation.Â

Please note that the grant will be paid after the participation in the summer school.
