About this course:
Edx invites you to join this free online course on Design Thinking Fundamentals. This course introduces the foundational activities related to design thinking, a flexible and structured process for identifying and solving problems. Design thinking is a strategy and mindset that can be applied to any industry to solve various problems. During this course, you will learn how the user-centered approach and principles of design thinking that inspire creative ideas with the aim of reaching the desired solutions.

What you will learn:
By the end of this 6-week free course, participants will be able to:

[1] Describe the methodological process for identifying and solving problems.

[2] Formulate ideas to solve problems.

[3] Discuss solutions that integrate product configuration, functionality and user experience.

[4] Identify design thinking processes and methods.

 Course Teachers:
This course will be taught by experienced teachers from Rochester Institute of Technology. The teachers are:
[1] Lorraine Justice: Dr. Justice is a professor of design and has worked on digital media products for 10 years before entering academic fields. She received her master's and doctorate degrees from Ohio State University, where she taught courses in graphic design, industrial design and design studies.

[2] Dan Harel: Dan Harel is a professional designer of furniture and furnishings, with more than 30 years of practical and scientific experience focused on innovation in consumer and seller design, and research on future homes and workplaces.
