Grand Rotana Resort and Spa is currently seeking passionate and dynamic Engineering professionals who pride themselves on their ability to deliver extraordinary levels of customer service and provide creative solutions to the hotel's guests.

Responsibilities and missions:

As an Industrial Safety Technician you are responsible to assist the Industrial Safety Officer on all matters related to safety, emergency preparedness and environmental compliance programs:

  1. Follow the standards of Rotana as per the ‘Fire & Emergency Manual’
  2. Take rounds of the Hotel complex on a daily basis and highlight any dangerous operating condition
  3. Monitor the daily pool water tests and to ensure that corrective action is in place if needed
  4. Assist in Installing safety devices on machinery or direct the installation of these devices
  5. Review colleague safety programs and recommend improvements
  6. Daily check on the fire extinguishers condition.
  7. Daily check on the fire hose-reel internally and externally.
  8. Monthly check on the fire bump condition.
  9. Follow up and fix the firefighting hotel network.
  10. Keep the industrial safety logbook updated on daily basis.
  11. Check the fire alarm detectors on daily basis.

Education, Qualifications & Experiences:

  1. You should ideally have a degree in Engineering 
  2. At least two years experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry. 
  3. A good command of written and spoken English 
  4. The ability to monitor for compliance with local safety, health, environmental regulations and industry standards are essentials. 

Knowledge & Competencies:

The ideal candidate will be able to evaluate and control environmental hazards by developing and modifying procedures, training modules and providing safety orientation to hotel employees. You will have a high level of self motivation, develop innovative options in the best interest of the hotel while possessing following additional competencies:
