About this scholarship:

Established in 2024 by Associate Professor Nick Lavidis under The Create Change match initiative and maintained by income from the Anastasios and Evangelia Scholarship endowment fund. Professor Lavidis has been a generous supporter of student scholarships and financial need at UQ since 2003. On staff in UQ's School of Biomedical Sciences, his interest in students stems from the way his parents Anastasios and Evangelia Lavidis modelled generosity during his years growing up, and his own desire to help students in financial need achieve their educational, research and career aspirations.
