Why study at Webster University?

Webster University was founded in 1915 and offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs through five schools and colleges: Arts & Sciences, Business & Technology, Communications, Education and Fine Arts.

It is a global, Tier 1, private, non-profit university recognized by the Higher Learning Commission. Class sizes are uniquely small with an average of only 10 students per class, giving each student plenty of time with their professor.

It has also been ranked among Forbes Magazine’s ‘America’s Top Colleges’ for eight consecutive years.

The university has gone on to expand its reach well beyond its home in St Louis, Missouri with campuses in Orlando, Florida, Irvine, California and more.

Webster is a truly global university and outside of the US we have campuses in Switzerland, the Netherlands, Austria, Greece, Ghana, and Thailand as well as partner universities around the world. This opens up many opportunities for students who want to study abroad.

Campus life in the US

Webster's home campus is based in Webster Groves, St. Louis, Missouri. It is located in a charming and historic residential suburb, approximately 20 minutes from central St. Louis. Here, you will find modern residence halls and academic buildings like the Webster Library but also historic buildings such as Webster Hall that dates back to the founding of the university more than 100 years ago.

The university also houses many athletic and recreational facilities, including an indoor swimming pool, fitness center, a big gymnasium, locker rooms and athletic training room. Webster has 8 division III NCAA teams for men and 8 for women. We also have the #1 Collegiate Chess team in the US.

St. Louis is a jazz city and music plays an important part at Webster where the College of Fine Arts offers many bachelors programs within music and dance. The campus is also equipped with a Media Center, a theatre and a Community Music School.

Campus life revolves around an active, tight-knit student body that takes part in film screenings, concerts, theatre, intramural sports and more. With over 60 student groups, the community has something for everyone.

At our Irvine and Orlando campuses, you can study for master’s degrees, but you will not get the campus life that is offered in St. Louis.
