The French Embassy in Tunisia grants excellence scholarships each year to co-supervised doctoral students to finalize their doctoral research project. The purpose of this scholarship program is to support and promote Franco-Tunisian university partnerships structured by mobility funding for the Doctorate level.
The selection of application submitted is carried out within the framework of a joint Franco-Tunisian joint commission.
The call for applications is open in the following ways:
• Eligibility
- be of Tunisian nationality only;
- be registered in a joint supervision doctorate (minimum 3 years of registration);
- be in possession of a joint supervision agreement signed by the 2 establishments, French and Tunisian;
- have at least one publication in an international review with reading committee.
NB:
- Binational students are not eligible if their second nationality is French nationality.
- The cumulation of this scholarship with a salaried activity or other funding in France is prohibited.
• Disciplines concerned
All disciplines are affected by this program. Priority is given to:
- engineering sciences (mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology);
- environmental sciences;
- Economic Science and Buisness Administration ;
- law, journalism, tourism;
- literature (modern, contemporary, classical and comparative);
- French teaching;
- language sciences;
- linguistics;
- philosophy, sociology / psychology, geography and history.
The selection of applications will take into account in particular the quality of the project submitted (interest of the subject, references of the hosting laboratories and previous publications).
• Duration of the scholarship
- from 2 to 4 consecutive months of mobility within the framework of a joint supervision of a thesis;
- 1 month scholarship and a round-trip plane ticket for the thesis defense in France.
• Financial help
- monthly allowance of 1,700 euros during stays in France;
- coverage of social security for the duration of the grant;
- exemption from visa fees. The costs of TLScontact are borne by the scholarship holder.
