Research Fellow in RNA biology, epigenetics & cancer

The Transcription and Chromatin Regulation Laboratory is seeking an ambitious Research Fellow to join the group of Assistant Professor Yinghui Li at the School of Biological Sciences, NTU. The innovative candidate will join a team of experienced molecular and cell biology researchers and computational biologists to perform cutting-edge research in non-coding RNA functions, epigenetic regulation and cancer development. The overall goal of our funded projects is to uncover the impact of oncogenic/inflammatory mediators and non-coding RNAs on enhancer regulation, chromatin dynamics and transcriptional control during disease pathogenesis (Nature Cell Biology 2015, 17: 1327-38; PNAS 2016, 113: 14402-07; Nature Communications 2018, 9: 3183).

The successful candidate should demonstrate excellent RNA biology, epigenetics or chromatin regulation knowledge and demonstrate competence in CRISPR epigenome editing, nuclear run-on assays, in vitro transcription and RNA pull-down, lncRNA profiling or genomics work such as ChIP-seq and chromosome conformation capture (3C) methods. Prior computational knowledge of the basic processing pipelines for NGS datasets is a plus but not essential.

We are looking for exceptional candidates with:

  • A recent PhD graduate (or 1-2 years postdoc experience) in the relevant areas of molecular & cell biology, RNA biology or gene regulation; Candidates with at least 5 years of postdoctoral experience will be considered for a Senior Research Fellow position;
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in molecular & cell biology, RNA biology or genomics work;
  • Prior track record of peer-reviewed publications in relevant disciplines will be advantageous;
  • Ability to write/contribute to research articles, grant reports and keep well-organized scientific documentation;
  • Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, written and oral communication skills;
  • A strong team focus and ability to work independently;
  • A demonstrated ability to supervise PhD students and junior research staff is a plus.

An attractive remuneration package (with health insurance and other benefits) that is commensurate with the qualifications and relevant experience of the successful candidate will be provided.

Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
