Description

The purpose of the Scholarship is to provide assistance to students who are experiencing financial hardship to study earth sciences (geological sciences) at The University of Queensland.

Eligibility

An applicant is eligible for the Scholarship, if the applicant:

submits a completed application to the Associate Dean by the closing date;
is a domestic student in accordance with the University’s Student Fees Policy;
is enrolled or intends to enrol as a commencing student in the Relevant Field in an Approved Program in the year of award; and
can demonstrate financial need.

Please complete and submit the Lowth Geology Scholarship online application form by 31st January 2021 at 11.59 PM AEST. Please ensure you've read the prompts in the application form and attach all relevant supporting documents before submitting your application. No late or incomplete scholarship applications will be considered.

The selection committee will be conducting an interview for short-listed applicants.

All submissions will be kept confidential and only used for the purposes of assessing the scholarship.

Selection criteria

The Scholarship is awarded on the basis of the following criteria:

demonstrated financial need;
strength of personal statement included with application;
academic capability as demonstrated by overall academic performance; and
any other evidence that the selection committee may deem relevant to the applicant’s future success in their field.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians are encouraged to apply

Scholarship value : At least $20,000 per year
