The project aims to develop new theoretical approaches adapted to excited states and their implementation in the software QUANTUM PACKAGE developed within the laboratory. In particular, the post-doctoral fellow will work on variants based on density functional theory and coupled cluster-type methods for excited states.

The postdoc will:
- develop new methodologies
- write research articles
- participate to national and international conferences
- participate to the PhD student supervision
Applications are sought for a Postdoctoral Fellow, position within Dr Pierre-Francois Loos' Theoretical Chemistry research group in the Laboratoire de Chimie et Physique Quantiques (LCPQ) UMR5626 in Toulouse (Universite Paul Sabatier) [http://www.irsamc.ups-tlse.fr/loos/]
The Postdoctoral fellow will participate in a research projects funded by the ERC consolidator grant "PT-symmetric electronic structure theory" (PTEROSOR).
The primary focus of the position will be the design and development of radical new approaches for quantum chemistry.
The present postdoctoral position is funded through the ERC CoG H2020 (project PTEROSOR 863481).
The project aims at developing a totally novel approach to obtain excited-state energies and wave functions in molecular systems thanks to the properties of non-Hermitian and PT-symmetric Hamiltonians.
The Laboratoire de Chimie et Physique Quantiques (LCPQ) UMR5626 in Toulouse (Universite Paul Sabatier) is part of the IRSAMC (physics) institute and is located on the campus og the Universite Paul Sabatier.
The LCPQ gathers more than 20 permanent researchers working on various areas of computational and theoretical chemsitry.
