Eligibility:

You're eligible if you:

have completed the first year of the Bachelor of Journalism or a dual degree including the Bachelor of Journalism
have a GPA of at least 4.5
are enrolled full-time in the Bachelor of Journalism or a dual degree including the Bachelor of Journalism.

And you:

do not hold another scholarship that the Associate Dean considers to be similar
have not previously received the scholarship.

We'll consider:

academic achievements
personal qualities, including leadership potential
any other matter that the selection committee considers to be relevant to the your future success in the journalism profession.

About this scholarship:

The scholarship was established in 2017 and maintained by gifts from many donors in memory of the dearly missed Clare Atkinson.

The Clare Atkinson Memorial Scholarship will empower journalism students to dive headfirst into the industry, make the most of the profound impact they can have on our public discourse. It supports students who demonstrate the commitment to journalism that Clare displayed throughout her life.
